News Release!
The Macungie Memorial Park Board of Directors is pleased to announce that they have acquired a 1.6 acre parcel of land between Lumber Street and Mountain Creek as an addition to the western side of the Park. This gives the Park land on both sides of Mountain Creek which is very exciting.
The purchase was made possible by a local family who provided a two year interest free loan for the purchase price and closing costs. The Park is looking forward to creating a plan for the use of this new area and welcomes community input. Park meetings are held the last Tuesday of each month in the basement of the main Park building. Visitors are welcomed.
The Park will also be looking for grants, donations and funding suggestions to pay off the temporary loan.
The Park is a 501(c)(3) charity and any donations are tax exempt.
A special Land Acquisition Fund may be created.
Macungie Memorial Park is the home of the annual Antique Truck Show, Das Awkscht Fescht, Wheels of Time and various other events and community activities.
Come out and look at this new area of the Park and look forward to enjoying it as the Park develops a plan.
Macungie Memorial Park Association is a private, non-profit organization that manages and operates the Macungie Memorial Park, providing a place for the social, cultural and recreational advancement of the regional community.

Macungie Memorial Park has received 501(c)3 status. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Park Board Meetings are held the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM downstairs in Memorial Hall. Everyone is invited to attend.* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- *Public attendance for meetings is subject to change based on COVID-19 Guidelines -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Volunteers Needed! The Park Association extends an open invitation to all borough and neighboring residents to enjoy another exciting summer of activities at Macungie Memorial Park. The park is operated and maintained without the support of local tax monies. Therefore, volunteers are the backbone of Macungie Memorial Park. Many of the special events planned during the year are made possible only because of the dedicated efforts of park volunteers. The need for volunteers increases every year. With many new people moving into the community, we invite you to become an active volunteer and help support our beautiful park facility. A few hours of your time to help serve refreshments at one of the many functions scheduled this season would be greatly appreciated. All proceeds from the sale of refreshments are used for park improvements and maintenance. To include your name on the volunteer list, please call the park office at (610) 966-4289. Newcomers are welcome! A perfect way to get to know your neighbors and become involved in a worthwhile community effort! |
